Image of Richard Frères Miniature BarographRichard Frères barograph constructed principally in gilt bronze (ormolu) on a lacquered brass chassis with maker’s logo “RF” and serial “No. 51260,” fine conventional five capsule movement raised on four turned pillars with grained steel beams and arm guard, polished screws and pivots, original arm with nib pressure screw. The drum with good quality carriage clock movement having platform escapement, regulator port with sliding cover, key port with original dust plug. Bronze spring paper clip. Heavy cast gilt bronze sub-chassis. Calibration adjustment square mounted below the chassis. Lift off cover comprising heavy cast gilded bronze frame of classic form with five deep bevelled glasses.

These Richard Frères barographs are rare, of the highest quality and aesthetically very attractive. The miniature size lends itself very well as a desk accessory. The subject of a complete strip down, conservation and overhaul including the drum movement, this is a fine piece for the collector.
