Pocket forecaster of celluloid construction, the face with tri-concentric discs: the base with directions of wind and signed by the maker “Negretti & Zambra, London,” the mid disc with barometric scale in inches of mercury, the upper disc marked with maker’s logogram and “Pat. No. 6276/15,” (1915) and set with three viewing windows revealing a forecast code for steady, rising or falling pressure, the verso marked with 26 weather predictions. The code obtained from the upper disc may then be translated on the verso to a predicted weather forecast.
The pocket forecaster complete with instruction sheet, heavy card retail case and original tissue wrapping.
Extremely scarce in this condition, very light wear overall, the retail case with slight marks to edges, the celluloid clean with minimal signs of ageing.
The best example we have seen, and very definitely in collectable condition.
