Pocket Barometer Altimeter by Negretti & Zambra No 10095 c1923 – SOLD
Pocket barometer having 1¾” silvered and struck twin scale dial, the outer altitude scale with a range from 0–10,000ft, the inner calibrated in inches of mercury with a range from 21–31, the upper portion marked with standard meteorological terms, “Rain,” “Change,” “Fair,” and “Compensated,” the lower signed by the maker “Negretti & Zambra, London,” and serial no.”10095.” Fine blued-steel pointer set beneath a bevelled glass maintained within a rotating bezel with associated altitude scale. Conventional compensated 1¼” capsule driven movement dated September 1923, all within a barrel form case with plain central rib and with engine turned divided borders. Extension post with bow. The verso with compensation port and screw at 8 o’clock as viewed.
The barometer case retaining almost all its original lacquered finish, the glass in good order, the dial bright and vibrant, the bezel freely rotating. The instrument, serviced and calibrated, with good sensitivity and progression.
A very good aneroid pocket barometer in excellent condition.
