Pocket barometer and pedometer compendium in gilt brass drum case. The barometer with finely engraved and silvered dial having dual concentric scales, the outer rotating altitude ring calibrated from 0–8,000 feet, the inner showing 21–31 inches of mercury. Upper portion of the dial annotated “Rain,” “Change,” “Fair” and “Compensated,” the lower signed by the maker “Wood, Abraham’s,” “Liverpool & Manchester.” Fine blued-steel pointer, bevelled crystal set in rotating bezel. The pedometer with enamel dial, roman chapter ring marked I–XII, single blued-steel pointer, swing-open crystal, the inertia-driven movement set on a swing-open platform with release catch.
The whole contained within its contemporary, green silk- and velvet-lined, maroon moroccan leather-covered two tier case.
This is a very unusual instrument of very good quality. It retains almost all its original gilt finish, both dials remain in excellent condition. The pedometer may be adjusted to the step of the user. The whole in good working order and condition.
