Motor aneroid having 2” die struck japanned dial marked in white. Outer bezel driven rotating altitude ring marked “Feet” with a range from 0 – 10000ft, divided to 20ft and having stations at each 1,000ft. Inner barometric scale calibrated in inches of mercury with a range from 22” – 31” and divided to 1/10th”, the upper part marked “Aneroid,” the lower with maker’s name “Negretti & Zambra, London” and serial no. “18866.” White painted steel pointer, low dome plexiglass.

Standard but high quality movement driven from 1¼” flux welded single capsule tensioned on a C spring. All contained within a drum form case with rear mounting flange, three mounting points.

Condition: The subject of full servicing, conservation, and testing under laboratory conditions. The movement working exceptionally well with a maximum error across the range of 0.1”, good transition and sensitivity, see performance chart.

Generally very crisp, the dial with minor marks hardly visible to the naked eye, white alpha numerics clear with good colour. The plexiglass with very light scratches. The chrome case with flange modification, the chrome in excellent condition with minor marks only.

Comments: A very hard to find item essential for the faithful re-creation of classic car dashboards, lovely condition and worthy of fitment to any restoration. A collector’s piece.
