Pocket Forecaster by Negretti & Zambra c1925 – SOLD
Pocket forecaster of celluloid construction, the face with tri-concentric discs: the base with directions of wind and signed by the maker “Negretti & Zambra, London,” the mid disc with barometric scale in inches of mercury, the upper disc marked with maker’s logogram and “Pat. No. 6276/15,” (1915) and set with three viewing windows revealing a forecast code for steady, rising or falling pressure, the verso marked with 26 weather predictions. The code obtained from the upper disc may then be translated on the verso to a predicted weather forecast.
